![]() ![]() Get Fraps it's a great FPS-checking software, and it's worth the $37 for the full license if you think you may at any point use the screen capture. However, both RivaTuner's FPS-reading and screen-capture solutions are extremely buggy compared to Fraps. Step 4: Open the screen that you want to record and press F9 to start recording with Fraps. It only gives your FPS, where as RivaTuner (bundled with MSI Afterburner and EVGA Precision) gives you temperature, FPS, load, and a bunch of other crap. Okay, about the FPS-checking features, it works on about everything you can throw at it (including your Windows Aero desktop, Google Chrome (as well as videos on it) and even media players like Windows Media Player). Although Fraps is free, any time you use it to record video of games, there will be a watermark, and screenshot captures are limited to only certain file. ![]() It's a fantastic program I use it for not only it's FPS-checking features (the original reason I got the program) but it is also a powerful screen recorder (although I prefer GeForce Experience only because it gives me no FPS lag at all Fraps gives you a crap-ton). ![]()
